Process for Quality Assurance for Global Digital Library (GDL) Library content

The quality assurance (QA) standards will serve as minimum criteria for accepting or rejecting various types of reading books submitted for upload to the GDL.

This process will ensure that Library content uploaded to the GDL is compliant to the GDL minimum QA standards.

 

Content import steps

1 The content is provided as files and metadata according to the GDL metadata and accessibility guidelines.

Content is checked against the Quality Assurance Standards for Global Digital Library (GDL) content

Responsible: QA team/consultant.

2 The content is imported into staging.digitallibrary.io

The GDL team will create a spreadsheet for final QA that will then be sent to the content QA responsible. The spreadsheet will serve as a last book by book, page by page QA document.

Responsible: GDL team.

3 Final check of content on staging against Quality Assurance Standards for Global Digital Library (GDL) content. This final check will ensure that any errors caused by import is maped and fixed.  

Responsible: QA team/consultant.

4 The organisation responsible for QA will sign of on the content batch and fill the form confirming that the content is compliant to GDL QA standards.

Responsible: QA team/consultant.

5 Content will be imported on to the GDL platform.

Responsible: GDL team.

6 Last QA of content after import to production.

Responsible: GDL team and content QA team/consultant.
